We're thrilled to introduce Chef Shiv Kappal as Executive Chef, leading the resort’s culinary program across SIDECUT Steakhouse, Braidwood Tavern, and all food experiences at Canada’s #1 Resort (Condé Nast Traveler).
With over 18 years of global experience, Chef Kappal brings a deep respect for seasonal ingredients, bold natural flavours, and a passion for open-fire cooking. His approach is rooted in authenticity and simplicity—allowing ingredients to shine through technique, not excess.
A seasoned Four Seasons talent, Chef Kappal’s career has spanned luxury properties in Mumbai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and the Maldives, where he oversaw multiple restaurants and private island dining as Executive Sous Chef. He now brings his global perspective to the mountains of Whistler.
“I see food as a way to tell the story of a place,” says Chef Kappal. “Whistler offers an incredible natural pantry, and I’m excited to create memorable dining experiences that celebrate seasonality and local character.”
Outside the kitchen, Chef Kappal is an avid traveler, explorer, and former scuba diver—now trading coral reefs for snowy peaks. He has visited more than 30 countries in search of culinary inspiration and now embraces the alpine lifestyle with his wife, Prachi.
With a focus on innovation, community, and elevated dining experiences, Chef Kappal leads the next chapter of culinary excellence at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler.
